Known as the Black Bear Capital of Wisconsin, Glidden's hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and ATVing is amoung the best in northern Wisconsin.

The Glidden area is the gateway to the Chequamegon National Forest and the Ashland County Forest. Glidden's Marion Park Pavilion, constructed of virgin hemlock, pine and hundreds of windows, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
