RECREATIONAL PARADISE

The Ashland area offers four season recreation with over 150 lakes, hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and snowmobile trails and 180,000 acres of Chequamegon National Forest.

The area is known for its large, healthy deer herd and excellent habitat for ruffed grouse, snowshoe hare, ducks, geese and newly introduced elk. Our area offers world class sailing and deepwater fishing on Lake Superior and an abundance of the finest trout streams in the MIdwest.

Golf or have a picnic at one of our beaches or parks. During the winter months, it's never too cold to enjoy downhill skiing or snowboarding at one of the nearby winter resorts. Or step out of your front door and cross country ski on the numerous trails in the Chequamegon National Forest.
